Pride in Panels: SF Queer Comics Festival is a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating the remarkable vitality of the LGBTQIA+ comics scene in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
We host a large biannual comics festival at the Main Branch of the SF Public Library every other February, alongside ongoing events across San Francisco. We keep all events open to the public and free for both exhibitors and attendees.
These events connect queer comics creators with each other and with the broader community of fans, publishers, educators, librarians, and culture makers. These connections result in opportunities for career building and sales, learning, and storytelling.
Our inaugural festival took place in 2024 and attracted 2000+ attendees.
The weekend kicked off with a Queer Comics Reading at Silver Sprocket.
Saturday afternoon, we hosted a film screening of No Straight Lines: The Rise of Queer Comics.
The main festival featured several panels, maker workshops, and an exhibition hall with 100+ queer comics creators. Special guests included Maia Kobabe, Caroline Cash, Ed Luce, Ajuan Mance, Lawrence Lindell, and Lee Marrs.
